Andrew

Hi I’m Andrew,

I was 26 when I first married, we then went on to have three lovely children. During that time - I worked the long days and weekends in a corporate job, had the big house in a nice suburb and nice cars. But I was time poor.

Fast forward through the years to where I am now: 64, divorced, in a long-term relationship of nearly 10 years with my lovely partner Laura, renting and until recently broke.

My wonderful partner Laura, (who always believes in me) knows we are on an exciting journey together that has given us new hope for the future.

Don’t get me wrong we are happy optimistic people, but… we had resigned ourselves to a ‘settle for’ lifestyle.

While we are currently renting in the city Laura is a very keen gardener and collector of retro kitsch and vintage pottery. I call her an expert, she prefers to look on herself as a researcher in the kitsch, pottery and garden plants to which I am regularly corrected on this point. Oh and we have a dog (Captain -'Cappy').

Laura and Cappy

Me, I work part-time in the security industry. Unfortunately, of late there seems to be more trouble in society so I am really looking forward to leaving this profession completely. Very soon!

I have always believed there is more to life than working for someone else until death or retirement. A saying I heard once: Most people retire and try to live off 40% of what they couldn’t live off when they were working. (doesn’t sound too good does it?).

While I admire people who have had the courage to start their own traditional business, most find themselves working harder than they ever did, hitting a very steep learning curve in the early days if they are to have any chance of making it.

I suppose that’s why statistically, 80% of small businesses don’t last beyond 5 years.

I tried other things, even dabbled in cryptocurrency. Failed miserably (to Laura’s annoyance we lost money). I know it has a big place in our future, but it’s new and it will take time and plenty of education before people accept it.

I had some success in Network Marketing. I built a reasonable sized business and started developing a good income. But I didn't enjoy sharing the opportunity with people, even though it was a Great opportunity. The business hadn't reached the size where it would keep growning and produce that wonderful passive income, so when I stopped building it, it faded away. What I did love about Network Marketing was that everyone who got involved was in business for themselves. They were building it for their own dreams. That and supporting people in their personal growth resonated deeply with me. I started with a number of other Network Marketing companies, but my business never got off the ground because the same challenges held me back.  That's not to say many wonderful people aren't building successful Network Marketing businesses. They are. But that was me, and maybe it's you too.

So my dream business has always been one where I become successful, developing a passive income, by helping others succeed, developing their passive income, and ‘successful’ to me is having enough money to live life on my terms.

In other words having a balance of time and money.

So back to our settle for future.

Laura and I had planned to save up for a deposit on some land in the country where I would build us an environmentally friendly home where we could live off the grid. Not as hermits shunning society, but primarily being more self-reliant.

In our home in the country Laura would continue to buy and sell her retro, kitsch and pottery through the various online groups she is involved with, and I would continue to restore and sell furniture, I enjoy working with wood, but we both agree it would be better enjoying these things on our terms rather than relying on them for an income.

In the past I had even turned my back on online platforms. I had taken the steps to close my Facebook account along with closing other platforms. I kept telling Laura and my best mate (who lives in the north of the state) that they spend far too much time on social media (Laura has a Uni degree in Internet Communications/Online media management so she just ignored my overly critical reflections). “Not for me”, I said, I was now down to using just YouTube to look up car reviews.

Well haven’t I eaten my words!

I found 'Modern Wealthy.

My Dream vehicle to achieve my Dreams! I finally found something where I could build a business I love and develop a passive income by supporting and encouraging other people in building their own business and reach their own Dreams!

In a few months I have gone from a ‘technology shunner’ to someone who has built three websites and am enjoying life with new hope for the future.

I built a site for Laura where she is sells her retro kitsch and pottery (The Happy Hoarders Tasmania) and doing quite well I must say.

I have also built a site for myself (Fabulously Funky) where I have vintage advertisements printed on t-shirts and other apparel and a site promoting the very same group of people who helped me turn my life around.

But my passion is promoting 'Modern Wealthy'. The most amazing community of people, both Students and Mentors, founded by Stuart Ross who believes that true success and personal fulfillment can only be achieved by helping others reach their version of success, by being true to themselves and who they are.

My 'Modern Wealthy' journey started back in 2023 when I saw a YouTube advertisement (yes, I was looking at car reviews) featuring a gentleman in his 60s.  He said he had no prior internet or online business experience. He was struggling big time while looking down the barrel of losing his business and life savings due to Covid.

He has changed his life dramatically by starting this online business building program called ‘Modern Wealthy’.

Well that got my interest and I started to look into it. What I found excited me! Not a get rich quick scheme but planned, methodical, step by step guidance on how to build an online business doing something you love.

I checked out the ‘Modern Wealthy’ system by purchasing the e-book for $37 (I could even get my money back within 30 days if I wasn’t satisfied), and watching the free videos by Stuart Ross the founder.

I did my ‘Due Diligence’ and there was nothing there that could sow doubt in my mind. Although I’m still a bit of a ‘Muppet” when it comes to technology and the internet I’m slowly improving, and that dear reader is just it - you can start with the most basic of skills. If you can turn your computer on, open an internet browser then you too can do this.

All I can suggest is that you check it out for yourself.

It may just be what you are looking for.
